I just got an email from Witchvox today asking how long I have been a Kabbalistic practitioner. He said that in so many years of Kabbala, he has "never heard of a Kemetic Pagan." I thought to myself "I haven't seen my profile in a long time, I wonder if something there was just confusing." I look... and no, nothing there could possibly have told anybody that I am even remotely interested in Kabbala. What. The. Fuck.
So I tried to reply for his email, explaining that nothing in my profile had anything to do with Kabbala. To make matter worse, when I replied to the email, I got an auto-reply insisting I fill out a form before I could get through to him. Gods, people are stupid sometimes.

The email form sounds like the so-called "anti-spam" system that actually generates more spam. It seems there's this little clause in the TOS that says that if you fill out the form to verify that you are who you claim you are, you give the company that produces that form the authorization to spam you themselves. Needless to say, I simply do not send email to anyone who uses that system. If I run into the form in an email, I simply remove the sender from my address book until they choose to use a less offensive system.

The form itself was from Earthlink, and yes, it was an anti-spam thingy. The obnoxious part is that he mailed me first, although I guess one can't expect everyone to understand the intricacies of online email forms. I filled it out, but with my anti-spam address.
